Funeral Services: Will be held on Sunday, December 9, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Greenfield with burial in the Greenfield Cemetery.

Visitation: Will be held on Saturday, December 8th, at the Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

Memorials: To the Community Care Center Foundation in Stuart.

Charlotte May Lewis was born February 9, 1916, in Grove Township, Adair County, Iowa, the daughter of Archie and May (Glasscock) Rosser. She passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at the Community Care Center in Stuart, Iowa, at the age of 96.

Charlotte grew up in Adair County and attended country school in Grove Township and graduated from Menlo High School in 1934. She lived most of her life in Adair County. She was a secretary, working for Farm Bureau, Adair County Extension and retired from the Adair County Recorder’s Office in 1981. She loved knitting, crocheting, playing scrabble, puzzles, and crosswords.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Helen Purdy.

She is survived by her three children, Larry Lewis and wife Judy of Oskaloosa, Mick Lewis and wife Dot of Irving, Texas and Sheri Rice and husband Denny of West Des Moines; seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; sister, Ione Johnston of Stuart; other relatives and friends.
