Funeral Services: Will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at the Steen Funeral Home in Massena. Father Philip Bempong will officiate the service.  

Open Visitation: Friends may call at the Steen Funeral Home in Massena on Friday, January 10, 2020, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. 

Family Visitation: The family will greet friends on Friday, January 10, 2020, at the Steen Funeral Home in Massena from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. 

Memorials: Memorials may be directed to the Cindy McElfish memorial fund to be established by the family at a later date. 

Cynthia Louise McElfish was born on December 8, 1958, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of William and Nancy Moon. She passed away on Monday, January 6, 2020, at her home in Massena, Iowa, at the age of 61.

Cindy worked many jobs starting with cooking at Bishop Drum in Johnston, Iowa and lots of different places including Henningsen Construction, Colonial Manor, Motel 8, Wiota Steakhouse and others.

On October 15, 2005, she was united in marriage to Randy McElfish in Wiota, Iowa. Both having children from previous marriages they consisted of Travis, Tracy, Dale, Jr. for Cindy and Randi Sue and Stacey for Randy. They lived their married lives in Wiota and Massena, Iowa. She loved to cook, enjoyed gardening, knitting, spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; and a brother, Billy Moon.

She is survived by her husband, Randy McElfish of Massena; sons, Travis Moon of Grand Island, Nebraska and Dale Waldroupe, Jr. of Omaha; daughter, Tracy Porter of Wiota; step-daughters, Randi Sue Lehman and husband Alan of Guthrie Center and Stacey McElfish of Council Bluffs; step-son, Troy McDaniel and wife Kerri of Cedar Rapids; 11 grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
