Deborah Lee Jameson was born April 9, 1951 in Greenfield, Iowa, the daughter of Howard Welch and Rose Anne (Lee) Welch Meisenheimer, as well as Dean Meisenheimer, who she considered Dad. She passed away on Friday, February 3, at her home in Fontanelle, Iowa, at the age of 71.
Deb spent her childhood in Greenfield, Iowa, and graduated from Greenfield High School. She married Dale Jameson in 1971 and they lived briefly in Des Moines and Bridgewater before moving to Massena and starting their family. They lived in Massena for a few years before moving to the Hebron area, and then later to the house by the old lake outside of Greenfield. A few years after Dale died, Deb moved to Fontanelle. They had three children Angie, Jeff and Ben.
When her family was young, most of her time was spent raising her children, though she did work part time at Casey’s making donuts. She later worked at Eaton in Winterset, went back to school at SWCC earned her Associate of Science Degree in 2001, and then worked in Adair County Health Systems as receptionist for 15 years, before retiring in 2018. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church and acted as treasurer for many years, as well as teaching Sunday School and Bible School. She was also a Girl Scout troop leader and Cub Scout den mother when her kids were young. She was always working on various craft or sewing projects with the kids for school, 4-H or Scouts. Often on nice days, she would just pack up a quick picnic and take the kids to a park to explore and play. Pammel Park, Middle River Park and Bridgewater Lake were favorite places to go. Deb also really enjoyed baking and loved watching cooking shows and going through cookbooks of all sorts. She tried lots of different recipes over the years, but the family favorites included angel food cake, cinnamon rolls, decorated Christmas cookies, and cream puffs, all of which she could make from memory.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dale in 2006; her parents; her parents-in-law Keith and Wilma Jameson, her great-grandaughter Riley Blevins; and her brother Dean Alan Meisenheimer; sisters-in-law Susan Meisenheimer and Mickey Jameson.
She is survived by her three children, Angie of Rockville, MD, Jeff (Gina) Jameson of Brownwood, TX and Ben (Nina) Jameson of Anita, IA; her 7 grandchildren Dustin (Kari) Blevins, Ethan Blevins, and Alle Jameson of Brownwood, TX, Darcy Denney, Carter Denney, Becca Zacharias and Ada Jameson of Anita, IA; her 3 great-grandchildren Chase, Kennedy and Hunter Blevins; sisters Kathy Hagen (Bruce) of Columbia Falls, MT, Julie Pernu (Robert) of Polk City, IA, Lori Armstrong (Scott) of Greenfield and brother Daryl Meisenheimer (Jenny) of Houston, TX; 2 brothers-in-law Duane Jameson of Willow Springs, MO, and Roger (Doris) Jameson of Fontanelle, IA and sister-in-law Ronda (John) Huddleson of Fontanelle, IA; other relatives and friends.
