Delphine Jensen

Celebration of Life Services: Will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Greenfield. Pastor Eric Schubert will officiate the service.  

Visitation: Will be held on Friday, January 24th, at the Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. 

Memorials: To the Delphine Jensen memorial fund to be established by the family at a later date. 

Delphine Marie Jensen was born April 12, 1929, in Greenfield, Iowa, the daughter of Ralph and Treva (Murphy) Dwyer. She passed away on Friday, January 17, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Society in Fontanelle, Iowa, at the age of 84.

Delphine grew up and lived her entire life in Greenfield. She graduated from Greenfield High School in 1947. On April 15, 1950, she was united in marriage to Bruce E. Jensen in Omaha, Nebraska. To this union four children were born: Micheal, Ted, Patrick and Judy.

Delphine worked for Eva’s Café, Berg’s Grocery and Stalder’s Grocery in the meat department. She loved to work in her yard, enjoyed flowers, bowling and loved the Iowa Hawkeyes.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bruce in 1996; daughter, Judy Spratt; sons, Ted Hofmann and Patrick Jensen; grandson, Tracy Dean Jensen; and two brothers, Harold and Fred Dwyer.

She is survived by her son, Micheal Jensen of Greenfield; son-in-law, Tom Spratt; two grandchildren, Bill Spratt (Renee) and Jolene Praska (DJ); three great grandchildren, Bridget Praska, Douglas Praska and Collin Spratt; other relatives and friends.
