Funeral Services: Will be held on Friday, November 3, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Greenfield with burial at the Greenfield Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the church following the committal services at the cemetery. Pastor Eric Schubert will officiate the service.
Open Visitation: Will be held on Thursday, November 2nd, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Greenfield United Methodist Church.
Family Visitation: The family will greet friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Greenfield United Methodist Church.
Memorials: To the Eyvonne Ehrsam memorial fund to be established by the family at a later date.
Avis Eyvonne Ehrsam was born May 14, 1933, in Bartlett, Iowa, the daughter of Oliver McKinley and Avis Veno (Hubbell) Arterburn. She passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at the Adair County Memorial Hospital in Greenfield, Iowa, at the age of 84.
Eyvonne started school in Malvern, Iowa, and then moved west of Fontanelle and graduated from Fontanelle High School. On January 28, 1962, she was united in marriage to Roland “Bud” Ehrsam in the Greenfield United Methodist Church. To this union two sons were born: Monte and Mike. They made their residence in Greenfield.
Eyvonne was a teller at the Union State Bank in Greenfield for many years and also had babysat for several years and worked at the Greenfield Preschool. She retired in 2000.
Eyvonne enjoyed collecting dolls, spending time with grandkids, enjoyed making scrapbooks for family and grandkids. She loved to go to garage sales, flea markets, riding the bus with Bud at Christmas time handing out peanuts and candy and enjoyed going to coffee and remembering the “good old days”. She was a member of the Greenfield United Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star in Fontanelle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roland “Bud” Ehrsam in 2014; brother and sister-in-law, Norris and Janice Arterburn, brother, Robert Arterburn; brother-in-law, Roger and Lupe Ehrsam; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Pat and Ronald Keating.
She is survived by her two sons, Monte Ehrsam and wife Susan of Greenfield and Mike Ehrsam and wife Kim of Greenfield; six grandchildren, Holly Erbes (Jeff), Paul Ehrsam, Katy Ehrsam, Devon Pollock, Zach Plymesser and Casey Ehrsam; two great granddaughter, Amelia and Charlotte Erbes; brother, Therald Arterburn (Nancy) of Fontanelle; sister, Lorrene Peters (Richard) of Fort Collins, Colorado; sister-in-law, Patty Arterburn of Greenfield; other relatives, neighbors, and friends.
