Glenette Anne Rohner was born April 12th, 1950 to Ruth (McCartney) & Glen Rohner in Adair County, Iowa. She passed to her Eternal Rest in her home, surrounded by her friends on July 26th, 2022, age 72 years, 3 months & 14 days.
Glenette grew up in Fontanelle, studying piano, dance, and music from home through college. Glenette attended Bridgewater-Fontanelle High School graduating with honors with Class of 1968. She then attended Colorado State College in Denver, Co majoring in Music and graduating with honors.
After College, Glenette moved to Baltimore, MD and started working as a secretary in a law firm. She also participated in the AVAS (Arundel Vocal Arts Society) music program as Director & Conductor of their orchestra. She performed many musicals over the years. Glenette moved to Arnold, MD and loved spending time with neighbors and friends. She would return to Fontanelle to care for her Mom and visit with family, friends and classmates. She enjoyed crocheting afghans, caring for her flowers in her yard, performing with the Encore Music Group and many other hobbies. She loved her dog Donavan & went on long walks & visited many dog parks. He was a nice companion on the drives to Iowa & back to Maryland.
Glenette was preceded in death by her mother Ruth and father Glen Rohner. Cousins: Janice Gruber and husband Ralph; Jim Rohner; Patty Dunkerson; and Mary Ann Crabb.
Glenette is survived by Cousins: Kay Allen Rohner and wife Gail of Red Oak, IA; Linda Sulgrove and husband Les of Des Moines, IA; Keith McCartney and wife Beverlee of Burke, VA; Rita Blecken and husband Bruce of Des Moines, IA; JoAnn Lane of CA; Debbie Englestadt of Ankeny, IA; Denise Landt and husband Jeff of Garwin, IA; and Rita Rosenberg and husband Denny of Grimes, IA. Special friends Joann McKnab of Arnold, MD; Brenda Plymesser and husband Craig of Greenfield, IA; and Sherol Brown of Greenfield, IA; and other friends and relatives.
Funeral Services: Will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fontanelle with burial in the Fontanelle Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the church following the burial. Pastor Steven Broers will officiate the service. The Lamb Funeral Home in Fontanelle is in charge of the professional arrangements.
