Funeral Services: Will be held on Monday, August 12, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fontanelle with burial in the Fontanelle Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the church following the burial.
Family Visitation: Will be held on Sunday, August 11th from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Steen Funeral Home in Fontanelle.
Memorials: To the Henry Baudler memorial fund to be established at a later date.
Henry Albert Baudler joined his heavenly savior on August 8, 2013, at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.
Henry was born on January 21, 1936, in Fontanelle where he was raised by his loving parents Ernest Peter and Sophia Christina “Lizzie” Lorenz Baudler. Henry lived in Fontanelle for the duration of his life. Here he was baptized on April 5, 1936, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fontanelle, and became a confirmed lifetime member. He attended country school in the community. On January 22, 1956, Henry was united in marriage to Ruth Armstrong. The couple moved to their farm in 1956, where they raised hogs, dairy cattle, and harvested corn and beans.
The couple enjoyed many activities including farming, traveling, camping, playing cards, and visiting with friends. They also loved playing their accordions. But, most of all, they enjoyed their grand children and great grandchildren.
Left behind to cherish Henry’s memories are his wife of 57 years Ruth. Five grandchildren: Angie Clausen (Matt) of Grimes, Quintin Schultz (Shellie) of Fontanelle, Lisa McClintick (Ryan) of Dexter, Andy Buckner (Heather) of Mt. Ayr, Tony Buckner (Alexi) of Yale. Eighteen Great Grandchildren: Taylor, Jacob, Zach, Jackson, and Tori Clausen. Breanna, Koby, Maddyson, Nolan, Brantley and Sadie McClintick. November and Henry Schultz. Scott and Livia Buckner, Storm Hoadley. Blake and Neal Buckner. Three brothers: Bernard Baudler (Maxine), Louis Baudler (Betty), and Virgil Baudler (Carol) all of Fontanelle. Two sisters: Sylvia Cooper (Leon) and Ruth Henderson (Wayne) both of Greenfield. Along with many other family members and friends.
Preceding Henry in death were his parents, Sister Wilma, and a baby brother. Brother-in-Law Bill Johnson, niece Renee Johnson, nephew David Cooper, and great grandson Landin McClintick.
