Celebration of Life Services: Will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lamb Funeral Home in Fontanelle. Pastor Karen Patrick will officiate the service. Private family burial with be held in the Bohemian National Cemetery at a later date. The Lamb Funeral Home in Fontanelle is in charge of the professional arrangements. Open Visitation: Will be held on Friday. October 7, 2022, at the Lamb Funeral Home in Fontanelle from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Family Visitation: The family will greet friends on Friday, October 7, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Lamb Funeral Home in Fontanelle.
Memorials: May be directed to the Jean Davis Memorial Fund to be established by the family at a later date.
Jean Velma Davis was born December 19, 1937, the daughter of Glen and Velma (Duben) Blazek in Adair County, Iowa. She passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at her home in rural Prescott, Iowa, at the age of 84.
Jean grew up in southern Adair County and graduated from Richland High School in 1955. She was married to Russell Davis in 1958 and was blessed with five children, Sarah, Lois, Jerry, Norman and Eric.
Jean worked as an CMA in Corning and Greenfield Nursing Homes. She enjoyed collecting cardinals and wind chimes, which she has many of. Jean loved to go to flee markets and sales in general, putting together jigsaw puzzles and especially loved to babysit her grandchildren. If you needed anything Jean was always there to give a helping hand.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Gaylord; three brothers, Kenneth (Estelle), Lawrence and Bill (Alice); sister, Faye Webb; brothers-in-law, Roger Webb and Terry Davis; sister-in-law, Meredith Blazek.
She is survived by her two daughters, Sarah Orchard and husband Mike of Fontanelle and Lois Myers (Ed Carpenter) of Corning; three sons, Jerry Davis and wife Shirley, Norman Davis and wife Carol and Eric Davis all of Prescott; 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; brother, Vern Blazek of Orient; three sisters-in-law, Viola Blazek of Waukee, Beth Davis of Altoona and Kathy Strom and husband Larry of Arizona; other relatives and friends.
