Joe Lamb, 84, of Greenfield

Funeral Services:  Will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Greenfield United Methodist Church with burial in the Greenfield Cemetery.  A luncheon will be held at the church following the committal services at the cemetery. Pastor Melinda Stonebraker will officiate the service.  The Lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield is in charge of the professional arrangements.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.lambfuneralhomes.com.

Open Visitation:  Will be held at the Lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield on Friday, December 8, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Family Visitation: The family will greet friends on Friday, December 8, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield.

Memorials: A memorial fund will be established by the family at a later date.

Joe Thomas Lamb was born on December 26, 1938, in Greenfield, Iowa, the son of Forrest (Bud) and Lorna (Cunningham) Lamb.  He passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at his home in Greenfield, Iowa, at the age of 84.

Joe grew up on the family farm in Prussia Township and graduated from Greenfield High School in 1957.  He was united in marriage to Sally Jo Hoy on February 7, 1963, in Des Moines, Iowa.  He lived most of his life in Adair County except for a few years in Mesa, Arizona where he worked for New Holland. He had worked for John Deere, served as a policeman and worked for R&A Sand all in Greenfield.  His love was farming and through the years truly enjoyed working for Ron Nelson, Mick Baudler, Mike McDermott, Donnie Raasch and many others who needed a helping hand with whatever was in need.   He enjoyed hunting, tractor rides, riding around in his pickup and visiting with everyone.

He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Sarah.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sally Lamb of Greenfield; children, John Wolfe (Chris) of Cripple Creek, Colorado, Laura Little (Steve) of Menlo, Kim Lamb of Ankeny, Phyllis Jones (Rob) of Van Meter, Joe Lamb, Jr. (Jackie) of Greenfield and Todd Lamb (Lisa) of Greenfield; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Lamb (Mary Lou) of Greenfield; Sam Lamb of Lakeview, Oregon; two sisters, Sue Lancaster (Mark) of Atwater, California and Jeannie Minnick (Don) of Mesa, Arizona; other relatives and friends.
