Judy Rafter

Funeral Services: Will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Greenfield with burial in the Fontanelle Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the church following the committal services at the cemetery. Pastor Eric Schubert will officiate the service.   

Open Visitation: Will be held on Tuesday, March 5th, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield. 

Family Visitation: The family will greet friends on Tuesday evening March 5th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield. 

Memorials: To the Judy Rafter memorial fund to be established by the family at a later date. 

Judy Ann Rafter was born July 3, 1939, the daughter of Frank Nelson and Etha Marie (Henry) Paschall in Osceola, Iowa. She passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at the Greenfield Rehabilitation and Health Care Center at the age of 79.

Judy graduated from Osceola High School in 1957. She worked at Bell Telephone Company in Des Moines for a few years. On April 28, 1962, she was united in marriage to Randall Rafter in the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. To this union two children were born: Ranee and Kevin. Judy worked at the Greenfield Manor for 10 years in the kitchen. She enjoyed crosswords, reading, talking on the phone, playing cards, playing scrabble and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Greenfield United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Randall Rafter of Greenfield; son, Kevin Rafter and wife Jami of Stuart; daughter, Ranee Rafter of Greenfield; five grandchildren, Ben Rafter, Josh Rafter, Tyler Rafter, Matthew Clark and Karl Rafter; other relatives and friends.
