Karen “Katie” Kay (Edwards) Boone was born on January 6 1941 in Fontanelle, Iowa and died on January 16, 2023 at the age of 82 in Canton, Georgia.
Katie came from a family of 12 with six brothers and five sisters. Katie was number eight of the 12 children born to her parents Glenn Maxwell Edwards and Elinore Dorothy Edwards. Katie had five children. Her daughter Jill Kathryn preceded her in death. Her four remaining children, Angee, Patrick, Michael, and Jayne held a special place in her heart. She was also blessed with 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Although Katie was born and raised in Iowa she lived in several states and cities during her 82 years including Amarillo, College Station, San Antonio and Frisco, Texas; Deadwood, South Dakota; the Kansas City Metro area; Greeley and Pueblo, Colorado and Canton, Georgia. However, Kansas City was where her heart truly lived, and she loved the Chiefs! Katie was feisty, she was stubborn and outspoken. She was never the best at any one thing but she was great at lots of things. She loved gardening and flowers. She loved baking pies. She loved anything involving crafts. She loved her dog, Emily.
Katie was married twice during her life. Her first marriage was to Robert D. Lane and her second to Bill Boone. Both have preceded her in death.
