Karen Jarvis

Celebration of Life Services: Will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield with a luncheon immediately following at the Greenfield United Methodist Church. Pastor Eric Schubert will officiate the service. The Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield is in charge of the professional arrangements. 

There will be no visitation. 

Memorials: Memorials may be directed to the Karen Jarvis memorial fund to be established by the family at a later date. 

Karen Sue Jarvis was born February 29, 1956, the daughter of Jerry and Viola (Hoy) Borst in Des Moines, Iowa. She passed away on Friday, February 24, 2017, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 60.

Karen grew up and attended school in Redfield. On September 18, 1981, she was united in marriage to Curt Jarvis in Des Moines, Iowa. To this union one son, Neal was born. She worked for Iowa Methodist Medical Center for over 20 years as a medical secretary. She later worked for Company Medicine at Lakeview Medical Center in West Des Moines. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, was an avid Iowa State Cyclone fan and Green Bay Packers fan and always took great care of her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert Borst.

She is survived by her husband, Curt Jarvis of Waukee; son, Neal Jarvis and fiancée Samantha Anderson of McKinney, Texas; brother, Ray Borst of Mesa, Arizona; sister, Karla Findley of Greenfield; other relatives and friends.
