Kenneth Bartlett

Kenneth Bartlett passed away on Friday, March 1, 2019, at the Creston Specialty Care. 

Celebration of Life and Masonic Services: Will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at the Orient United Methodist Church with burial in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Nevinville, Iowa at a later date. Pastor Cathy Nutting will officiate the service. A luncheon will be held at the church immediately following the services.   

Memorials: Memorials may be directed to the Kenneth Bartlett memorial fund to be established by the family at a later date.

Kenneth Dewey Bartlett was born October 18, 1928, the son of Dewey and Mary (Bonar) Bartlett in Nevinville, Iowa. He passed away on Friday, March 1, 2019, at the Creston Specialty Care in Creston, Iowa, at the age of 90.

Kenneth was raised in Nevinville and graduated from Richland High School in 1946. On January 16, 1948, he was united in marriage to Doris Dwyer in Cromwell, Iowa. To this union two daughters were born: Joyce and Barb. They farmed in Adair County and Kenneth had worked for Agriland FS Inc. retiring in 2018. Kenneth and Doris moved to Creston in 2005.

Kenneth was a member of the Orient United Methodist Church, Prescott Masonic Lodge, and the ZA-GA-ZIG Shrine. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and especially being with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Maxine Gustavson.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Doris Bartlett; two daughters, Joyce Bartlett of Creston and Barb Green and husband Rod of Orient; four grandchildren, Troy Bartlett (Karen), Jacob Bartlett (Lindsay), Chad Green (Pepper) and Brandy Green; nine great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
