Larry Ray Sevier was born on February 17, 1941, in Creston, Iowa, the son of Harold and Martha Johanna Henrietta (Schoenfeldt) Sevier. He passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at his home in rural Macksburg, Iowa, at the age of 83.
Larry grew up in the small town of Kent. He was always a hardworking man with many talents. He ventured through a variety of jobs, from farming, feed mills and coops to building houses and finally retiring from Bunn-O-Matic in 2013. Larry met Shirley and they were married in 1958 and had 3 children. Larry trained horses to ride and pull carts. As a family they showed horses. Showing rabbits and pigeons was another one of the things he enjoyed doing. If any of you knew Larry very well, you would know he loved his wife and family. He also always had a great story to tell and a funny joke to share! Larry spent the last few years after Shirley passed in 2015 raising goats, ducks and chickens.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley Sevier; grandson, Nichlos Sprague; son-in-law, Todd Edwards; daughter-in-law, Robin Sevier; siblings, Hazel, Betty, Dorothy, Ruby and Jim.
He is survived by his son Jerry Sevier, wife Teri Jo; son Ronald Sevier, wife Cyndie; daughter Brenda Edwards; grandchildren Jodi Sevier, Ashley Simpson, Travis Sevier, Chelsea Sevier, Cody Whaley, Chantel Sevier, Michael Waddingham, and T'Lee Jones; and 13 great-grandchildren.
