Memorial Services: Friday, January 6, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at the Steen Funeral Home in Fontanelle with burial in the Fontanelle Cemetery. Pastor Steven Broers will officiate the service.
Visitation: Will be held on Thursday, January 5th from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Steen Funeral Home in Fontanelle.
Memorials: To the Lila Hall Memorial Fund to be established by the family.
Lila Mae (Edwards) Hall was born Oct. 22, 1923 to Raymond (Bud) and Laura Maas Edwards in Massena, Ia. She passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at the Winterset Care Center North in Winterset, Iowa, at the age of 88.
Lila was baptized in the Christian Church as a small child. She graduated from Fontanelle High School in 1941 after attending grade school in Cass and Adair Counties. On May 10, 1941, LilamMarried Robert L. Hall. To this union four children were born: Evelyn, Robert, David, and Debra. Lila was a housewife and worked along side her husband at Farmers Lumber Co. for a number of years and owned and operated a chicken picking business for many years. She loved her flowers and always had a big garden often giving much of the produce away. She joined the Lutheran Church in 1944 and was a member of the Auxiliary and Area of Aging Meal site in Greenfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1988, her parents and two brothers, Clair and Orland.
She is survived by her children, Evelyn Kline of Fontanelle, David Hall of Humeston, Iowa, Debra Sickles (Denny) of Fontanelle and Robert Jr.; seven grandchildren, Tracy May (Clint) of Urbandale, Tanja Wiggins (Jeff) of Greenfield, Tara Bower (Mark) of Fontanelle, Cherry Rehbein (Stephen) of Humeston, Russell Hall (Sandra) of Indiana, Teresa Husk (Brian) and Tyson Sickles (Amanda) of Fontanelle; several great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
