Lisa Sickles

Funeral Services: Will be held on Friday, March 1, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fontanelle with burial in the Fontanelle Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the church following the committal services at the cemetery. Pastor Steven Broers will officiate the service.  

Open Visitation: Will be held on Thursday, February 28th, at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fontanelle from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. 

Family Visitation: The family will greet friends on Thursday evening at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fontanelle from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. 

Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Lisa Sickles memorial fund to be established by the family. 

Lisa Dupre (Chilcote) Sickles was born in 1940 and passed away on February 23, 2019, at the age of 78.

Lisa was raised in Washington State at White Horse Mountain. She loved riding horses there. She would say how beautiful it was. She married Jerry Shreeve in 1958 and the that union one daughter, Jeri was born. They divorced later and Lisa and Jeri moved around a lot. In 1974, they moved to Iowa. In 1991, she met Dale and they married in 1995. Jeri received three new sisters. For the first time in her life she was happy, complete and loved. She loved the Gathers Gospel Group and would drag Jeri and Dale to any of their concerts from Omaha to Des Moines. She would watch them every Saturday evening on tv. She loved donating her time at the slab, reading and sewing. She did reupholstering and ceramics. But her greatest love and most important were friends, family, but special to her were her grandkids and great grandkids, they brought her so much joy and happiness. As much as she loved all of us she was loved right back.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.

She is survived by her husband, Dale Sickles of Fontanelle; four daughters, Jeri Pickrell (Dennis) of Greenfield; Jessica Young (Roger) of Fontanelle, Heather Schneider (Josh) of Greenfield and Samantha Gettler (Brian) of Fontanelle; 11 grandchildren, Jamie Cockburn (Jim), Holiann Weston (Cliff), Derik Pickrell (Nickie), Kalyn, Kynna and Kyrin Young, Wyatt and Parker Schneider, Terrin, Levi and Slade Gettler; 6 great grandchildren, Andruw and Avery Cockburn, Madelyn Weston, Marie, Allyson and Ace Pickrell; 4 step grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; mother-in-law, Evelyn Purdy of Fontanelle; other relatives and friends.
