Lori Christensen, 65, of Greenfield

Funeral Services: Will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at the Greenfield United Methodist Church with burial at the Greenfield Cemetery.  A Luncheon will follow the burial at the church. Pastor Melinda Stonebraker will officiate the service.  The Lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield is in charge of the professional arrangements. 

Open Visitation:  Will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at the Lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Family Visitation:  The family will greet friends on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield.

Memorials:  To the Lori Christensen memorial fund to be established by the family at a later date.

Lori Jean Ann Christensen was born April 28, 1957, the daughter of Leon and Raideen (Frederick) Martin in Greenfield, Iowa.  She passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at the Kavanagh House in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 65.

Lori grew up in Greenfield and graduated from Greenfield High School in 1975.  On July 30, 1976, she was united in marriage to Jerry Christensen in the United Methodist Church in Greenfield.  To this union four children were born: Ashley, Jonathan, Suzanne and Tommy.  She went on the nursing school at Southwestern Community College in Creston earning a LPN in 1979.  She was a nurse for 27 years at the Greenfield Manor then worked at the ER floor at the hospital in Creston.

Lori loved being a nurse and caring for her patients.  Her greatest joy in life was raising her family and nurturing her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and infant brother, Jerry Leon Martin.

She is survived by her children, Ashley Christensen of Greenfield, Jonathan Christensen (Jana) of Greenfield, Suzanne Christensen of Greenfield and Tommy Christensen of Des Moines; five grandchildren, Akayla Christensen, Dax Christensen, Dalanie Brown, Sophia Christensen and Lorelei Christensen; two brothers, Steve Martin (Ruth) of Creston and Mike Martin (Teresa) of Greenfield; fiancé, Fred Lydon of Greenfield; other relatives and friends.
