Celebration of Life Services: Will be held on Monday, September 29, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at the Canby Friends Church, rural Fontanelle. Pastor Dallas Wood will officiate the service. A luncheon will be held at the church following the committal services. The Steen Funeral Home in Fontanelle is in charge of the professional arrangements.
Open Visitation: Will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2014, at the Steen Funeral Home in Fontanelle from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Marie Leona Kinney was born January 12, 1920, in Massena, Iowa, the daughter of John and Mable (Casteel) Greenwalt. She passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at the Greenfield Rehabilitation Health Care Center.
Marie was raised in Anita and finished 8th grade. On December 24, 1937, she was united in marriage to Glen W. Kinney in Adair County, Iowa. To this union four sons were born: Marlin, Ronald, Eugene and Keithy. They farmed and lived all of their marriage one mile east of Canby. Marie was a member of the Canby Friends Church and ladies aide. Marie loved quilting and embroidering. She made many quilts and other articles for the church bazaars. Marie was the chosen chicken gravy maker for the bazaar. She was also the church organist for many years. She loved going to music jams around the area,--often joining in to play and dance.
She had a green thumb always having a garden and flowers . She mowed her own lawn up until age 92.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glen Kinney; son, Keithy Kinney; grandson, DuWayne Kinney; and two brothers, Virgil and Dean Greenwalt.
She is survived by her three sons, Marlin Kinney and wife Sherry of Casey, Ronald Kinney and wife Delores of Casey and Eugene Kinney and wife Teresa of Dallas, Texas; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
