Marsha Chafa, 83, of Fontanelle

Celebration of Life Services: Will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield with burial in the Fontanelle Cemetery.  Pastor Melinda Stonebraker will officiate the service.  The Lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield is in charge of the professional arrangements.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.lambfuneralhomes.com.

Family Visitation:  The family will greet friends on Saturday, January 21, 2023, one hour prior to services at the Lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield.

Memorials:  To the Marsha Chafa Memorial Fund to be established by the family at a later date.

Marsha Ann Chafa was born July 8, 1939, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Morton Howard and Frances Ann (Anderson) Longenecker.  She passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at the Unity/Point Methodist West Hospital in West Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 83.

Marsha grew up in Greenfield and graduated from Greenfield High School in 1957.  She was united in marriage to Delano Chafa on February 6, 1959, at the Fontanelle United Methodist Church.  To this union, two children were born: Wade and Maria.  She worked as a teller in the Greenfield Bank for many years.  She enjoyed reading books by her favorite authors, going to the horse races at Prairie Meadows, going on bank bus trips around the country, and taking trips to casinos with her friends.

Marsha was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Delano in 2004; and her four older sisters, Janet Coffman, Ruth Gunther, Donna Fetters and Thelma Meyer.

She is survived by her son, Wade Chafa (Sue Allspach) of Des Moines; daughter, Maria Vincent (Travis) of Urbandale; four grandchildren, Nicole (Victor) Jimenez, Tia Chafa, Callan Vincent and Alexa Vincent; other relatives and friends.
