Nellie Marie Yarrington, 78, of Gravity

Celebration of Life Services:  Will be held at a later date at the Bridgewater Activity Center in Bridgewater, Iowa, probably the spring of 2024 with private family burial at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.lambfuneralhomes.com.  The Lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield is in charge of the professional arrangements. 

Memorials:  In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to your local library or to Boystown.

Nellie Marie Yarrington was born September 11, 1945, in Olympia, Washington the daughter of Frederick, Jr. and Francis (Binion) Rowe.  She passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 78.

Marie lived most of her adult life in Washington and worked in the medical field.  She moved to Iowa in 2003 and married Dick Yarrington on February 24, 2005, in Corning, Iowa.  They made their home near Gravity, Iowa.  She loved to read, enjoyed her flowers, painting, wood crafts, bird watching and thrifting.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ron Rowe; and sister-in-law, Sue Pannkuk.

She is survived by her husband, Dick Yarrington; children, Tammie Elmore (Doug), Scott Yarrington (Doug Burkhart), Sandra Walker (Ricky), Patricia Shafer, Terry Yarrington (Laura) and April Yarrington; 29 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; two brothers, Glen Pannkuk and Jimmy Pannkuk and wife Joan; many other relatives and friends.
