Pamela Anne (Jensen) Wiggins was born on April 12, 1947, in Greenfield, Iowa. She was the daughter of Ralph and Hazel (Plymesser) Jensen. Pam tragically passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, as a result of the tornado that swept through Greenfield.
Pam grew up in Greenfield, Iowa and graduated from Greenfield High School in 1965. While there, she was a first chair flutist for four years, sang in the choir, and was a cheerleader. On June 26,1965, she was united in marriage to Dean Wiggins at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Greenfield. From this union, two sons were born: Todd Allen and Jeffrey Dean.
Pam worked at Senior Citizen Housing, an independent living facility for older adults for many years and retired from her role as Director in 2013. Pam was immensely passionate about volunteering, was extremely involved in her community, and always willing to lend a helping hand where needed. She was President of Greenfield Business Women, a leader of Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, a member of the Adair County Hospital Foundation Board, and the Treasurer of the Adair County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. In addition, she volunteered with Greenfield Fire mates, Greenfield Chamber Mainstreet, and in numerous capacities at Immanuel Lutheran Church and other organizations.
Pam was a proud cancer survivor and loved the Lord, her family, her friends, and her community. She cherished spending time with her family and was especially happy when she would host celebrations and holiday gatherings at her home. Pam relished time with her beloved friends for Girls Night Out (GNO) and birthday celebrations. She was also fond of tending her flowers and game nights playing cards, Scrabble, or Fast Track. She, like Dean, was also an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan and enjoyed watching and listening to the games.
Pam had a very special bond with her cousin, Janet. They grew up more as sisters than cousins and spent precious time together throughout their lives.
Pam is survived by her two sons; Todd Wiggins and wife Nancy of Urbandale, Iowa, and Jeffrey Wiggins and wife Tanja of Greenfield, Iowa; five grandchildren, Thomas (Jena) Wiggins, Brittani (Danny) Dillon, Jacob Wiggins, Bailey Wiggins, and Alex Wiggins; seven great-grandchildren, Mason, Micayla, Declyn, and Ender Wiggins, Isabella, Isaac, and Mileena Dillon; sisters-in-law Judy and Linda Jensen, Diane (Bob) Edwards, Nancy and Jane Wiggins; brother-in-law Gary (Nonie) Wiggins; cherished cousin Janet Jones; other relatives and dear friends.
Pam was proceeded in death by her parents, Ralph and Hazel Jensen; parents-in-law Earl and Edna Wiggins and Clyde Westphal; brothers Dennis and Steven Jensen; brothers-in-law Ron and Max Wiggins.
