Peggy Goetz, 82, of Fontanelle

Funeral Services: Will be held on Monday, December 9, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at the Lamb Funeral Home in Fontanelle with burial in the Fontanelle Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the Lamb Funeral Home in Fontanelle following the burial. The Lamb Funeral Home in Fontanelle is in charge of the professional arrangements. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.lambfuneralhomes.com. 

Family Visitation: The family will greet friends on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at the Lamb Funeral Home in Fontanelle from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. 

Memorials: May be directed to the family to be established at a later date. 

Peggy Louise Goetz was born on January 24, 1942, the daughter of Millard and Maxell (Thompson) Murphy in Dexter, Iowa. She passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024, at the Stuart Community Care Center at the age of 82.

Peggy grew up in the Dexter-Redfield area and attended school there. She married Marvin Goetz on September 2, 1962, in the Fontanelle United Methodist Church. After their marriage they lived in Fontanelle. 

Peggy enjoyed gardening, flowers, drinking coffee, camping, cooking, her grandkids and she even won the demo derby at the Adair County Fair. She was a member of the Fontanelle United Methodist Church. She loved to listen to Alan Jackson while doing her housework.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin Goetz; two daughters, Sharon Blachard and Kathy Peitz; son, Tim Thompson; two sisters, Joann Hoffman and Karen Love; and three brothers, Virgil Murphy, Bob Murphy and Teddy Murphy.

She is survived by her two sons, Marty Goetz of Fontanelle and Clint Goetz (Paige) of Orient; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sister, Carolyn McCorkel of Guthrie Center; other relatives and friends.
