Phillip Pollard

Funeral Services: Will be held on Monday, January 27, 2014, 1:30 p.m. at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fontanelle with burial in the Greenfield Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the Summerset Estates in Fontanelle following the burial.  

Visitation: Will be held on Sunday, January 26th at the Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Family Visitation: Will be held on Sunday, January 26th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield. 

Memorials: To the Phillip Pollard memorial fund to be established at a later date. 

Phillip Orwell Pollard was born on June 23, 1942, in Osceola, Iowa. He passed away on January 23, 2014, at his home in Fontanelle, Iowa, at the age of 71.

Phillip was raised in California and moved to Fontanelle in 2003. He graduated from high school in Fremont, California in 1959. He was employed at the Oakland Tribune Publishing Company in California, where he worked as a district manager for 37 years. Phil loved raising angus cattle, fishing in his own pond and his family and grandchildren were his pride and joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Lou Pollard.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Susan Pollard of Fontanelle; daughters, Kim Daino and husband Marty of Fontanelle, Kathy Pollard of Fontanelle and Jennifer Lake and husband Jake of Guthrie Center; eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brother, Larry Pollard of Virginia; sister, Betty Pollard of Washington; other relatives and friends.
