Funeral Services: Thursday, April 21, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at the Steen Funeral Home in Fontanelle with burial in the Fontanelle Cemetery with full military graveside rites by Fontanelle American Legion Carlson Post No. 247.

Open Visitation: Wednesday, April 20th, 2011, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Steen Funeral Home in Fontanelle.

Ralph Brezo Campbell was born March 12, 1933, to Lyman and Elsie (Brezo) Campbell in Orient, Iowa. He passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2011, at the V.A. Community Living Center in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 78.

Ralph grew up in Richland Township, Adair County, Iowa and graduated from Richland consolidated High School in 1950. He particularly enjoyed playing baseball during his high school years. Following high school he enrolled at Iowa State University and graduated in 1954 with a bachelor's degree.

He served his country in the United States Army and was proud of the numerous marksmanship medals awarded during his time in the military service. He was involved in the family farm operation in Richland Township following being discharged in 1956. He married Jean Osborn, they had one son, David and later they divorced. He lived many years in the Veteran's Home in Knoxville, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his son, David; several cousins and friends.
