Reva M. Lane died Friday, July 4, 2014 at the Forsyth Nursing and Rehab Center. Memorial services will be held on August 15, 2014 at the Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield, Iowa at 2:00 p.m. with burial in the Greenfield Cemetery.
Reva Mardell Lane was born Tuesday, January 11, 1916 in Adair County, Iowa to Gail Theodore and Zola Pearl (Lowe) Wilson. She married Merrill E. Lane on May 27, 1935. They were married for seventy one years. After Merrill retired, they bought a second home in Mesa, Arizona and wintered there for many years.
Reva was a very intelligent lady who was meticulous in everything she did. She was a wonderful mother, wife, grandmother and great grandmother. She devoted herself to everything she did in her life, especially her family. She and Merrill enjoyed dancing, camping with friends, fishing and many other activities.
She is survived by a son, Gabby Lane of Fairplay, Colorado, a daughter, Jo Ann Bassett and her husband, Dick Bassett of Forsyth, Missouri, grandchildren, Amanda Lane, Mitchell Lane, Denise Costianes and a great granddaughter, Palmer Lane and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Merrill Lane, and a sister, Maxine Holtmyer.
