Robert "Bob" Langfelt, 77, of Massena

A Celebration of Life: Will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the Crestwood Hills Golf Course in Anita from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m with a prayer service by Rev. Philip Bempong at 2:00 p.m.  Graveside services will be at a later date.  The Lamb Funeral Home in Massena is in charge of the professional arrangements. Robert Dean “Bob” Langfelt was born in Massena, Iowa at the Bristow Hotel on February 26, 1947, to Dale and Vivian (Dougherty) Langfelt. He entered eternal rest, surrounded by his family, on November 23, 2024, at Cass Health in Atlantic, Iowa at the age of 77.

Bob grew up in the Massena area and graduated from C&M High School in 1965. After high school, Bob worked for his father’s construction company and joined the Army Reserve in Creston in 1966. In 1970, Bob met Vicki Dill, and they united in marriage on February 6, 1971. To this union, four children were born: Robyn, Ryan, Regan, and Robert Jr.

In 1974, he began working for Northern Natural Gas, where he remained through numerous company name changes. He retired from OneOK North System in 2013 after nearly 40 years of dedicated service.

Bob proudly served the community of Massena in many roles, including as a member of the Little Britches Rodeo Board, Mayor, Lions Club, School Board, and Fire Chief.

He always enjoyed an ice-cold beer with friends, whether at the golf course, card table, or around a campfire. Bob cherished spending time with his family and loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.

Bob is survived by his wife of 53 years, Vicki; his children, Robyn McKee (Todd) of Massena, IA, Ryan Langfelt (Tammie) of Tabor, IA, Regan McKnight (Bobby) of Massena, IA, and Rob Langfelt of Walnut, IA; his siblings, Charlotte Groves (Bobby) of Cumberland, IA, Bill Langfelt of Massena, IA, and Coni Curry (John) of Massena, IA; sisters-in-law, Michelle Jessen (Ron) of Griswold, IA, Marilyn Dill of Des Moines, IA, and Opal Dill of Portland, OR; brothers-in-law, Randy Dill of Atlantic, IA and Ron Johnson of Atlantic, IA; his grandchildren, Kaycee, Eric, Nicole, Delaney, Cooper, Mady, Jack, Owen, Carson, Kambry, Landon, and Kinnick; his great-grandchildren, Haidyn and Taysom; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Vivian Langfelt; nephew, Randy Groves; father and mother-in-law, George and Helen Dill; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gailyn and Georgia Jessen, Rex and Mona Ballinger, Ron Dill, Gale Dill, Larry Dill, Kim Johnson, and Barb Dill.
