Funeral Services: Will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Lamb Funeral Home in Fontanelle with burial in the Menlo Cemetery. Pastor Keith Schweitzer will conduct the service. A luncheon will be held at the funeral home in Fontanelle immediately following the service. The Lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield is in charge of the professional arrangements. Ruth Arlene Haley was born on May 09, 1936, in Belmond, the daughter of Fred and Jenny (Knight) Wantz. She passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024, in Greenfield, Iowa, at the age of 88.
Ruth was a lifelong resident of Iowa and attended rural schools and graduated from Ames High School in May of 1954. She was baptized as a child and was a member of various Christian churches throughout her life.
On July 21, 1954, she was united in marriage to James Edwin Haley, (Eddie). To this union two children were born: Cindy, and Randy. Ruth worked in various service related jobs in retail and the food industry.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eddie Haley; and sister, Dorothy (Wantz) Denning.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Haley) Wickert of Des Moines; son Randy Haley, daughter-in-law, Carol (Stout) Haley of Atlanta, Georgia; grandson Michael Armstrong, and wife Marcy, and great grandson Nathan and great granddaughter Mikaela of Dubuque, Iowa; granddaughter Angie and eight great grandchildren Devonte, DeVille, Daija, Durrell, Daveon, DeMarreon, DeAngelo, and DeMayla of Des Moines, Iowa; grandson Hunter Haley of Carbondale, Il; granddaughter Hannah (Haley) Wuisan, and husband Jansen, and great granddaughter Emma Grace Wuisan of Birmingham, Al; four great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
