Ruth Jensen

Open Visitation: Will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield. 

Family Visitation: The family will greet friends on Tuesday evening November 27th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield. 

Funeral Services: Will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Greenfield with burial in the Greenfield Cemetery at a later date. A luncheon will be held at the church on Wednesday immediately following the services. Pastor Eric Schubert will officiate the service.   

Memorials: May be directed to the Greenfield United Methodist Church or to the E.E. Warren Opera House in Greenfield. 

Ruth Aileen Jensen was born July 15, 1926, in Adair County, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Anna (Wilson) Culver. She passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at the Good Samaritan Society in Fontanelle, Iowa, at the age of 92.

Ruth grew up in Adair County and graduated from Greenfield High School. Ruth married Glen Jensen on July 30, 1946, in Greenfield, Iowa. To this union two children were born: Rhonda and Brad. She worked for Jungmann Law Office in Greenfield, Iowa, for over 60 years and retired in 2006. She was a member of the Greenfield United Methodist Church and spent many years volunteering for the fall in gathering and church circles. She was a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glen in 1987; and two brothers, Glenn and George Culver.

She is survived by her two children, Rhonda James and husband Jon of Clearwater, Florida and Brad Jensen and wife Bev of Clive, Iowa; five grandchildren, Jason James and wife Adriene, Lindsey Villegas and husband Rafael, Matthew Jensen, Marcus Jensen and Jordan James; two great granddaughters, Hannah James and Areylia Villegas; sister, Ione Welcher of Merritt Island, Florida; other relatives and friends.
