Clifford “Skip” Eugene Christensen was born on October 7, 1936, to Hans Henry and Vivian Merle (Higens) Christensen in Adair County, Iowa. He passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2015, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 78.

Skip toured the Pacific Ocean, visiting Australia and Japan, courtesy of the U.S. Navy. In 1958 he married Beverly Annette Westphal in Greenfield. They had four children, Timothy, Edward, Annette, and Galen. They were divorced in 1981. Skip lived in Greenfield, Nevada, IA, and Brighton, CO. He worked as a carpenter and over-the-road truck driver for most of his life. He and his long-time companion/wife, Myrna Steinmetz Quam, enjoyed spending time with family and friends and spent several winters in the area of Mission, TX. Skip was a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by Myrna, his children Edward (Joyce Bendell) of Delta Junction and Eagle, AK; Annette (Terry) Thompson of Ames, IA; Galen (Ruchi) of Poulsbo, WA and their children Priya and Anika; step-children Lisa (Ron) Clouzet of Berrien Springs, MI, and their children Christoffer, Alexander, and Stefani; Lori (Mike) Bremer of Waterloo and daughter Ashley (Joe) Tenney and their children Valek, Jocelyn, Clover, and Elizabelle; Lindy Jo Markeson (Dave LaFave) of Council Bluffs, IA; Lee Quam of Centerton, AR and his children Zachary and Lexi; siblings Jim (Darlene) Christensen of Des Moines, IA; Larry (Marlene) Christensen of Greenfield, IA; and Judy Warrior of Fontanelle, IA; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Timothy (1973), siblings Ken, Robert “Bud”, Harold, Ruth Shetley, Margarete “Marge” Kerr, Dean, Phyllis Lewis, Shirley Benton, and Bill; along with several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
