Celebration of Life Services: Will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at the Greenfield United Methodist Church with a luncheon immediately following. Feel free to wear Steve’s favorite camo attire. The Lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield is in charge of the professional arrangements. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.lambfuneralhomes.com.
Family Visitation: The family will greet friends on Thursday, January 2, 2024, at the church from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Memorials: May be directed to the Steve Blazek Memorial Fund to be established by the family at a later date.
Steve Glen Blazek was born on September 24, 1969, in Creston, Iowa, the son of Kenneth Glen and Estelle Fay (Westphal) Blazek. He passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at the Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 55.
Steve graduated from Orient-Macksburg High School in 1988. He went on to attend Southwestern Community College in Creston in the carpentry and building trades. He lived his entire life in the Orient area.
Steve worked for FS in Orient, Titan Machinery in Greenfield for 15 years and the last 3 years at FNB in Fontanelle as an insurance agent. His love was his Big Rock Chatter Box business which he owned and operated for many years. He was a active member of the Adair County Sheriff's Reserves, was on the Coon Valley Coop Telephone Board and the Greenfield Early Wheels Swap Meet Board. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, hunting and whatever the grandkids wanted to do.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his significant other, Lea Clayton of Orient; stepchildren, Matt Clayton (Abbey) of Lorimor and Michelle Brock (Eddie) of Van Meter; five grandchildren, Hazin, Hank, Nash, Roen and Novi; his siblings, Wesley Blazek, Phyllis Blazek, Arlan Blazek (Deb), Joy Palmitier and Mary Peterson (Mike); other relatives and friends.
