Funeral Services: Will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield with burial in the Greenfield Cemetery. The Lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield is in charge of the professional arrangements. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.lambfuneralhomes.com. 

Open Visitation: Will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at the Lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. 

Family Visitation: The family will greet friends on Friday, January 31, 2025, at the Lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. 

Memorials: May be made to the Verle Ruth Memorial Fund to be established by the family at a later date. 

Verle Ann Ruth was born on November 26, 1930, the daughter of Richard and Iva (Armstrong) Christensen in Shelby County, Iowa. She passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at the Greenfield Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Greenfield, Iowa, at the age of 94.

Verle was united in marriage to Dallas Edwin Ruth in 1947 in the home of Dallas’s parents in Adair County, Iowa. To this union three children were born: Doyle, Beth and Eric. They lived most of their married lives in Adair County. She owned and operated Greenfield Florist for many years. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dallas Ruth in 2022; son, Eric Ruth; sisters, Ruthy Christensen and Janelle Evans; brothers, Raymond Christensen and Dwight Christensen; and son-in-law, Mark Lanzarotta.

She is survived by her son, Doyle Ruth and wife Polly of Orient; daughter, Beth Lanzarotta of Eugene, Oregon; three grandchildren, Stacey Cass and and friend Gary, Travis Ruth and wife Kelli and Eric Woosley and wife Melissa; four great grandchildren, Christa, Marissa, Kennedy and Carson; one great great grandson, Odin; other relatives and friends.
