Funeral Services: Will be held on Monday, January 9, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Fontanelle with burial in the Fontanelle Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the church following the burial. Mrs. Roberta Carpenter will officiate the service. The Lamb Funeral Home in Fontanelle is in charge of the professional arrangements. Open Visitation: Will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2022, at the Lamb Funeral Home in Fontanelle from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Vivienne Delores Dunn was born February 20, 1925 to Louie Glade and Anna (Buchholz) on a farm south of Fontanelle. She passed away Monday, January 2, 2023 at Greenfield Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Vivienne attended Summerset No. 7 country school and graduated from Fontanelle High School in 1943. She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Church where she served as pianist for many years. She took piano and violin lessons, and played the violin in the school orchestra.
After graduating from high school, she worked as a secretary for Elmer Johnson for six years. She married Eugene Dunn in 1947 where they made their home on a farm south of Fontanelle. One son was born, Ernest Eugene. She raised a garden and chickens, and helped with farm chores. She served on the election board in Richland Township for several years.
She loved to embroider and crochet. She enjoyed baking and always had cookies and milk for the grandchildren.
After the passing of her husband, Vivienne moved to Fontanelle. During that time, she worked for the bloodmobile, belonged to the Quilters Club; assisted with Bingo at Good Samaritan; and volunteered at the Adair County Fair. She was a 65+ member of the American Legion Auxiliary, where she served as secretary for many years. In 2002 she served as a page at the 7th District meeting.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene; son, Ernie; great grandson, Liam; brother and sister-in-law; and two brothers-in law.
She is survived by daughter-in-law, Mary; grandson Joe Dunn and wife Misty; great grandchildren Haylee, Tyler, Lillie, Emma, Beckham, and Kingston; granddaughter Christine Skog and great granddaughter, Harper, sisters-in-law Thelma Dunn and Shirley Miller; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
