Wilbert Ludwig, 73, of Greenfield

Funeral Services:  Will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield with burial in the Fontanelle Cemetery.  Pastor Melinda Stonebraker will officiate the service. The Lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield is in charge of the professional arrangements.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.lambfuneralhomes.com.

Family Visitation:  The family will greet friends on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at the Lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Memorials:  Memorials may be directed to Wilbert Ludwig Memorial Fund to be established by the family at a later date.

Wilbert Leroy Ludwig was born February 17, 1949, the son of Oran and Ruth (Sears) Ludwig in Greenfield, Iowa.  He passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023, at the MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 73.   

Wilbert grew up in Greenfield and graduated from Greenfield High School.  After high school he moved to Indianola and worked at various warehouses as a forklift driver for many years.  He moved back to Greenfield to retire in his later years.     

Wilbert enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and antique cars.  He loved to go to auctions and flea markets.   

Wilbert donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation and the Huntington's Disease Society of America.   

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Linda Ludwig; and brother, Ron Ludwig.   

He is survived by his two sons, Chris and Jon Ludwig; brother, Frank Ludwig; nephew, Bryon Ludwig and his three children, Brooklyn, Bryon and Chelsy; cousins, Deb and Nancy; other relatives and friends.
